On becoming a Certified™ Professional Facilitator (CPF)

In December this year I completed a certification process with the International Association of Facilitators (IAF). To become certified, the IAF require applicants to complete a two part process where candidates apply and provide written evidence and testimonial.

The written evidence is assessed against the six core competencies and successful candidates are then invited to the CPF assessment which consists of two interviews and candidates must facilitate a peer reviewed demonstration workshop.

As the certificate shows I passed.

It was a good opportunity to learn from and experience other facilitators tools and methods and get oral and written feedback from other Certified™ Professional Facilitators (CPF's) on what they had seen and experienced of my strengths and learning edges.

And it gives clients confidence that my professional practice has met a professional standard.

I'd recommend other facilitators to go through the IAF CPF process, for me it was a positive experience that will bring lasting benefits.

And in a time where all kinds of organisations need to build bridges, there has never been a greater need for the kinds of
outcomes professional facilitators create with the subtle art of facilitation.
