The brief

In November 2015 some of the world's most respected meeting planners, responsible for large medical conferences of 5,000 or more participants, gathered in Scotland for three days. They came to assess Scottish venues, and to learn about and create innovation and participation strategies for future congresses.

What we did

We facilitated five learning workshops. The journey began with participants sharing their challenges and the current reality of their industry. Supported by two external speakers, Dr Bertalan Mesko and Hamish Taylor, they created scenarios for future conferences, then used the challenges, scenarios and inputs to develop strategies to take home to their teams.

Serious people, serious processes

An important part of the brief was to help senior leaders think differently. Participants said the blend of processes was refreshing, enlivening and, above all, helpful in thinking anew.

"Sean Blair raised the facilitation bar to a level I had not previously experienced. This was a high-level group of association professionals who have 'seen' everything. Their praise for Sean was high and universal."
Lauren Kramer, Founder and Principal, Meeting Priorities
